چکیده
The limited germplasm resources of hulless barley restrict the breeding with improved traits. Mutation techniques are an effective tool for generating variation plant studies. This study aimed to evaluate impact gamma-ray at different doses on certain seedling properties M1 plants two genotypes, as well determine dose (ED50). seeds two-row cv. Yalin and line YAA7050-14, were irradiated 100, 150, 200, 250, 300 gray Gamma-rays delivered by a Cobalt 60 source along non-irradiated control samples. Gamma-ray irradiation affects both genotypes significantly. significant effect varied based doses, traits, genotypes. While lower found statistically identical in majority qualities generation, 250-300 gamma ray caused decreases characteristics studied (ED50) determined plotting growth reduction values lengths, then polynomial regression equations calculated each genotype. It was that 50% shoot length reached 214.1 Gy 253.4 respectively.

BACKGROUND Hulless barley is attracting increasing attention due to its unique nutritional value and potential health benefits. However, the molecular biology of the barley grain development and nutrient storage are not well understood. Furthermore, the genetic potential of hulless barley has not been fully tapped for breeding. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS In the present study, we investiga...
متن کاملLysine Catabolism in Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.).
Lysine catabolism in seedlings of barley (Hordeum vulgare L. var. Emir) was studied by direct injection of the following tracers into the endosperm of the seedlings: aspartic acid-3-(14)C, 2-aminoadipic acid-1-(14)C, saccharopine-(14)C, 2,6-diaminopimelic acid-1-(7)-(14)C, and lysine-1-(14)C. Labeled saccharopine was formed only after the administration of either labeled 2,6-diaminopimelic acid...
متن کاملAllelopathic Plants. 19. Barley (Hordeum vulgare L)
Barley is integrated with other crops to inhibit weed growth, through allelopathic interactions. Effects of barley on growth of other crops, weeds and autotoxicity among cultivars result primarily from allelopathy mediated by allelochemicals released from plant components and/or exuded from living roots. A limited number of allelochemicals are identified that contributes to allelopathic effecti...
متن کاملIdentification of a Phytase Gene in Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.)
BACKGROUND Endogenous phytase plays a crucial role in phytate degradation and is thus closely related to nutrient efficiency in barley products. The understanding of genetic information of phytase in barley can provide a useful tool for breeding new barley varieties with high phytase activity. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS Quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis for phytase activity was condu...
